MILITARY SPECIFICATION
FOR MILITARY GROUND VEHICLES
TIRE, PNEUMATIC:
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and
Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers pneumatic tires and tire flaps,
when applicable, for mounting on ground vehicles for tactical military use
(see 6.1).
Tires shall be of the following classes and styles
1.2 Classification.
as specified (see 6.2):
- Cross-country tread.
Class CC
- Mud and snow tread.
Class MS
- Military tubeless.
Class MTL
- Tires with tire flaps.
Style a
- Tires without tire flaps.
Style b
1.2.1 Sizes and ply ratings. Tires shall be of the sizes and ply
ratings as shown in figures 1 and 2.
